I began painting in high school in Bethesda, MD. I received a BA in Fine Arts from New York University and studied painting and drawing at the Art Student’s League in New York City, where my instructors included Cornelia Foss, Peter Cox, Frank O’Cain, and Peter Homitzky, among others.

Working primarily in oil paintings, I seek to capture the ethereal dimension between realism and surrealism by finding a subtle otherworldly quality through light and the juxtaposition of form, even when painting everyday subjects. My inspiration comes from both the dream world and the natural world, especially the sea and the objects that originate from it
